Darlington – Public Footpath Stopping Up & Diversion Order

The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled "The Diversion of Highway (North East) (No.27) Order 2026" authorising the stopping up and diversion of a length of Public Footpath No. 5 at Darlington, in the Borough of Darlington. This is to enable development as permitted by Darlington Borough Council, under reference 22/01342/FULE.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, Transport Infrastructure Planning Casework Unit, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting NATTRAN/NE/S247/6298). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Darlington Borough Council, Town Hall, Feethams, Darlington, County Durham, DL1 5QT.
Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 27 July 2026.
