Title: South Warwickshire Local Plan – Publication (Regulation 19)
Consultation-Period of Representations 21 July 2026 –
8 September 2026.
Area Covered: The South Warwickshire Local Plan (SWLP) covers the
administrative areas of Stratford-on-Avon District Council and Warwick
District Council.
Subject Matter: Stratford-on- Avon and Warwick District Councils have
chosen to work together to produce a new, joint Local Plan. The SWLP
will be a Development Plan Document that sets out the planning policies
that the Councils will use to assess applications for development, as well
as identifying sites to meet our future development needs, including those
in relation to housing, jobs, infrastructure and open space. The Plan also
addresses the important issues of climate change, wellbeing, connectivity
and biodiversity.
Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick District Councils have prepared a
Regulation 19 consultation which is the fourth stage in the preparation of
this new Local Plan. The consultation follows on from the Issues and Options
and Preferred Options consultations that took place in January 2023 and
January 2025.
In accordance with the relevant regulations this document is now subject
to a period of public consultation for seven weeks, running from Tuesday
21 July 2026 to 11:59pm on Tuesday 8 September 2026. Stratford-on-
Avon and Warwick District Councils are inviting representations on this
consultation document.

Councils.

opportunities to ask officers questions about the consultation document
and the consultation process. Details of the specific consultation events
