HIGHFIELD AVENUE, HOPE AVENUE, LESLEY ROAD, STRAIGHT LANE, GOLDTHORPE - TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
An order has been made to introduce the following restrictions on the below roads on a phase basis as works progress, from 27th July 2026 for approximately 5 weeks. (1) Highfield Avenue, Goldthorpe – Temporary road closure for the full length from Straight Lane. Access maintained. (2) Hope Avenue, Goldthorpe – Temporary no right turn restriction at the junction with Straight Lane, allowing traffic to turn left only. (3) Lesley Road, Goldthorpe - Temporary road closure from Straight Lane to side of No.54. An alternative route is available via Straight Lane, Barnsley Road, High Street, Lesley Road. (4) Straight Lane, Goldthorpe – Temporary one-way restriction from High Street to Barnsley Road allowing traffic to travel in a Northerly direction only. An alternative route is available via Barnsley Road, High Street/Goldthorpe Road. (5) Straight Lane, Goldthorpe – Temporary road closure for approximately 10mtrs either side of the old railway bridge. This closure will only be in place once works the temporary one-way restriction is lifted. The permanent one-way restriction from Railway view to Barnsley Road will also be temporarily revoked to allow access to properties. COLLIER ROAD/SOUTHGATE, SHAFTON - TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES
An order will be made to close the below streets from 3 August 2026 for approximately 3 weeks: (1) Southgate, Shafton between Collier Road and Brierley Road. An alternative route is available via Collier Road/Pontefract Road/Brierley Road. Road closures will be implemented as required and may be intermittent, though in most cases will be closed 24 hours during the works period. Works are expected to take place from 3 August 2026 for approximately 1 week. (2) Collier Road, Shafton between Engine Lane Roundabout and Two Gates Roundabout. An alternative route is available via Collier Road, Pontefract Road, Brierley Road, Southgate. Road closures will be implemented as required and may be intermittent, though in most cases will be closed 24 hours during the works period. Works are expected to take place from 10 August 2026 for approximately 2 weeks. (3) Collier Road, Shafton between Engine Lane Roundabout and Shafton Roundabout. An alternative route is available via Pontefract Road, Brierley Road, Southgate, Collier Road. This section of Collier Road will not be closed at the same time as the section of Collier Road between Engine Lane Roundabout and Two Gates Roundabout. Road closures will be implemented as required and may be intermittent, though in most cases will be closed 24 hours during the works period.
