(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council (The Bowes, Gordon)
(Temporary Closing) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 07:00 on 23 July 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on 24 July 2026. The Order is required for Go Fibre works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the D66/5 The Bowes, Gordon.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via  the D66/5, D65/5, A6105, D66/5 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Applications for planning permission, listed building consent and conservation area consent listed below together with the plans and other documents submitted with them may be examined at Council Headquarters, Newtown St Boswells between the hours of 9am and 4.45pm Monday to Thursday and 9am and 3.30pm on Friday.

Written comments may be made to the Service Director - Regulatory Services, Scottish Borders Council, Newtown St Boswells TD6 0SA within 21 days from the date of the publication of this notice. Alternatively, representations can be made online by visiting our website at http://eplanning.scotborders.gov.uk/online-applications/ It is also possible to visit any library and use the Planning Public Access system to view documents. To do this, please contact your nearest library to book time on a personal computer. Please state clearly whether you are objecting, supporting or making a general comment. Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, representations may be made available for public inspection.
