What is planned?
The North Ayrshire Council
(U66 Auchengate, Irvine) (Temporary 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2026
Order made under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will make it unlawful for any vehicle to exceed speed of 30mph, except for vehicles involved in the Scottish Womens Golf Open Event and Emergency Vehicles, on the U66, Irvine between Three Stanes Roundabout and Auchengate by reason of Golfing Event proposed to be executed on or near that road.
The Order will be in operation from 7am on 20th July to 1 0pm 27th July 2026 or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is earlier.
(Main Street, Kilwinning) (Pedestrian Zone) Amendment Order 2026
On the 6th July 2026 the North Ayrshire Council made the above named Order in terms of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The Order, which comes into operation on the 20th September 2026 was advertised in the Irvine Herald on 25th May 2026 and the effect of the Order is as stated in said notice.
Copies of the Order and plans relative thereto are available for inspection during normal working hours Monday to Friday inclusive at:-

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from 17th July 2026 apply to the Court of Session for this purpose.
