What is planned?

Newark and Sherwood Local Development Framework Developer Contributions & Planning Obligations Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) Adoption Statement

This Statement has been prepared in accordance with Regulation 11, 14 and 35 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 and gives notice that Newark and Sherwood District Council’s Developer Contributions & Planning Obligations Supplementary Planning Document was formally adopted on 15th June 2026.

The SPD provides guidance to the policies in the Development Plan; specifically adopted Amended Core Strategy Planning Policy SP6 and the adopted Policy DM3 from the Allocations & Development Management DPD.

The adopted SPD has been modified in accordance with Section 23 (1) of Planning & Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. These changes are set out within the Consultation Statement which is available to view on the Council’s website.

In accordance with Regulation 11 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, any person with sufficient interest in the decision to adopt the Supplementary Planning Document may make an application to the High Court for permission to apply for judicial review of the decision. Any such application must be made promptly in any event no later than 3 months after the date on which the SPD was adopted.

The adopted SPD, this Adoption Statement, the Screening Report and Statement of Consultation are available for public inspection free of charge at NSDC Offices at Castle House (Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm) and on the Council’s web site.

Notice of Newark & Sherwood Local Plan – Scoping Consultation
Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026 – Regulations 20 & 45

Notice is hereby given that the Newark & Sherwood Local Plan Scoping Consultation commences on Wednesday 1st July 2026 at 9am and closes at 5pm on 31st July 2026.

During this period the council is inviting representations on:

(i) such matters relevant to the preparation of the local plan as the authority considers appropriate, including what the plan should contain, and
(ii) how the authority should engage consultees in the preparation of the local plan.

Supporting information relating to the local plan scoping consultation and a comments form are available on the District Council’s website: https://www.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk/new-local-plan

Copies of the supporting information are also available to view at the Council’s offices at Castle House during normal office opening hours and at libraries throughout the District.
