ELECTRICITY ACT 1989

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (SCOTLAND) ACT 1997

THE ELECTRICITY WORKS (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT) (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2017

Notice is hereby given that Newlands Hill Wind Energy Hub Ltd, (“the Company”) with company registration number 13327241, having its registered office at 10 Victoria Street, Bristol, United Kingdom, BS1 6BN has applied to the Scottish Ministers for consent under section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 to construct and operate a wind farm known as Newlands Hill Wind Energy Hub, located 6km southeast of Gifford and 11km southeast of Haddington on the northern edge of the Lammermuir Hills in East Lothian. The installed capacity of the proposed generating station would be approximately 120MW comprising 15 turbines with a ground to blade tip height of up to 200 metres. The proposed development is subject to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and an EIA Report has been produced.

The Company has also requested a direction under Section 57(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 that planning permission for the development be deemed to be granted.

The Company has now submitted Additional Information (‘AI’) to Scottish Ministers, which includes information regarding the likely environmental effects of the proposed generating station in-combination with the anticipated works to connect the generation plant to the electricity grid at the existing 400kV substation within the Fallago Rig Wind Farm. An application for consent for the grid connection works will be progressed separately by Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN) on behalf of Scottish Power Transmission (SPT).

The AI and all other related information is available for public inspection, free of charge on the DPEA website at www.dpea.scotland.gov.uk under reference WIN-210-1. It can also be accessed free of charge on the project website at https://www.newlandshillwindenergyhub.com

All representations should be received not later than 9th August 2026, although Scottish Ministers may consider representations received after this date.
