What is planned?

(B797 MENNOCK _ LEADHILLS)
(TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to implement a temporary 30mph speed restriction on the B797, between Howat’s Burnfoot and Glenimburnfoot, Mennock Pass, near Sanquhar. 

The restriction is necessary, in the interest of road safety, to reduce speed limit to 30mph to facilitate repair works due to landslide. This will be in place from 20/07/26 to 23/07/26, (9am – 5pm daily), and effective only when appropriate signs are displayed on site.

(U107N ISLE-OF-MAN NO.2) 
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close U107n at Brasswell Level Crossing, Dumfries from 2300 on 18/07/26 to 0900 on 19/07/26. The closure is necessary to facilitate Network Rail signal cabling works. No alternative route available. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

(U471N COSHOGLE) 
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2026
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close U471n at Enterkinfoot rail bridge from 2200 on 21/07/26 to 0600 on 22/07/26. 

The closure is necessary to facilitate examination of rail over road bridge. No alternative route available. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
