NOTICE OF DESIGNATION

  1. Notice is hereby given that Uttlesford District Council, in exercise of its powers under section 69 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 (“the Act”), resolved on 9 June 2026 to designate land at Stebbing Green as a conservation area, to be known as the Stebbing Green Conservation Area.
  2. Extent of designation: The Stebbing Green Conservation Area comprises the historic core of the settlement and is bisected by a road which is aligned north-west to south-east and connects with the B1256 (Stane Street) a short distance to the south.
  3. Inspection of map and documents: A copy of the Designation Plan dated 9 July 2026 and associated designation documents may be inspected free of charge during normal office hours at: Uttlesford District Council, London Road, Saffron Walden CB11 4ER. The Designation Plan may also be viewed online at: www.uttlesford.gov.uk
  4. Further information: The Council published the designation proposals on 9 February 2026 and held a public meeting at Stebbing Village Hall on 25 February 2026. The consultation period ran from 9 February to 23 March 2026, and the Council had regard to representations received before making the resolution.
