CLIFTON PARK CONSERVATION AREA APPRAISAL AND MANAGEMENT PLAN PUBLIC CONSULTATION

This consultation is open for contributions from 6th July to 17th August 2026.

Clifton Park is a conservation area; this means that it is a place of special architecture and historic interest and it is nationally recognised. Local Authorities have a duty to review, from time to time, their conservation areas to ensure that these places are being properly protected. The current conservation appraisal and management plan was adopted in 2004. The Council is now looking to update this.

To develop this approach, the Council has produced an updated conservation area appraisal and management plan. The document can be viewed in:

https://haveyoursay.wirral.gov.uk/ or https://www.wirral.gov.uk/planning-and-building/built-conservation/conservation-areas/clifton-park-conservation-area

Management plans of conservation areas directly affect those who live in the area, and as part of the process to update the appraisal and management plan, we are asking for feedback from residents and interested stakeholders and groups. This can be done by completing the survey online or in person with a discussion with Council officers during the event. All the feedback provided will be reviewed and used to update the appraisal and management plan.

To provide your thoughts on the updated appraisal and management plan, please complete the survey on: https://haveyoursay.wirral.gov.uk/

Further information on the Clifton Park Conservation Appraisal and Management Plan can be found on the website:

https://www.wirral.gov.uk/planning-and-building/built-conservation/conservation-areas/clifton-park-conservation-area

If you wish to meet in person Council officers will be available: On Thursday 23rd July 2026, between 5.00 - 7.00pm

At the Masonic Temple, 27 Clifton Rd, Birkenhead CH41 2SF

To avoid disappointment please book an appointment through heritage@wirral.gov.uk
