TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (GENERAL PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT) (ENGLAND) ORDER 2015 (AS AMENDED). NOTICE OF CONFIRMING OF A NONIMMEDIATE ARTICLE 4 DIRECTION.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Runnymede Borough Council has made a non-immediate Article 4 Direction on 30January 2026 under Article 4(1) of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015, (as amended). This Direction was confirmed 29 June 2026.
Description of Development: The Article 4 Direction applies to Development comprising of a change of use of a building and any land within its curtilage from a use falling within Class E (commercial, business and service) of Part A of Schedule 2 to the Town and Country (Use Classes) Order 1987 (as amended) to a use falling within C3 (dwellinghouses, used as sole or main residence of Part 3 of schedule 1 to the Town and Country (Use Classes) Order 1987 (as amended) being development comprised within Class MA of Part 3 of Schedule 2 to the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (as amended) and not being development comprised within any other Class.
The Direction will affect the Relevant Areas as shown in the Second Schedule of the Direction.
Relevant Areas: All of the five Strategic Employment Areas listed in Policy IE2 of the adopted Runnymede 2030 Local Plan as defined in Schedule 2 of the Direction.
Effect of the Direction: Permission granted by the Order shall not apply to Development carried out within the Relevant Areas described above, unless express planning permission is granted by the Runnymede Borough Council on an application made to them.
Proposed date Direction will be in force: 8th February 2027.
Confirmation of the Direction: A copy of the Confirmed Direction, including the map defining the Relevant Areas, can be viewed on the Council's website at: https:// www.runnymede.gov.uk/planning-policy/preparationsupplementary- planning-documents/11 or in all of the libraries in the borough, as well as Weybridge and Staines libraires.
