NOTICE OF PROPOSED APPLICATION FOR AN INFRASTRUCTURE CONSENT ORDER

Purpose of this notice: This notice gives the public and consultees the opportunity to comment directly to the prospective applicant on a proposed Significant Infrastructure Project (SIP) before an application is submitted to the Welsh Ministers for infrastructure consent. Any comments made in response to this notice will not prejudice the ability of any person to make representations later in the SIP process. Comments received may be summarised in a Pre-Application Consultation Report and may be placed on the public file.

Prospective applicant: Last Energy UK Limited, 193-197 High Holborn, London, WC1V 7BD. Email: contact@cleanenergyllynfi.wales.

Applicant contact: Michael Jenner, for and on behalf of Last Energy UK Limited.

Location of the proposed development: The proposed development is located on the site of the former Llynfi Power Station within Cwm Llynfi, near Coytrahen; a valley orientated north to south between Maesteg and Junction 36 of the M4.

Summary of the main proposals: Last Energy UK Limited intends to apply to the Welsh Ministers for an Infrastructure Consent Order in respect of a proposed Significant Infrastructure Project comprising the construction, operation and maintenance of four micro nuclear reactors and associated infrastructure at the former Llynfi Power Station site.

Compulsory acquisition of land: This proposal does not include the compulsory acquisition of land.

How to respond: Anyone who wishes to make representations about the proposed development must write to the prospective applicant by email at contact@cleanenergyllynfi.wales or by post to Last Energy UK Limited, 193-197 High Holborn, London, WC1V 7BD.

Deadline for responses: Representations must be received 31st July 2026.
