Notice is hereby given that ScottishPower Transmission Plc, ("the Company") with company registration number SC189126, having its registered office at 320 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5AD has applied to the Scottish Ministers for consent under section 37 of the Electricity Act 1989 to install and keep installed approximately 0.06 km of 275 kV overhead line (downlead) supported on steel tower between Tower YG001 (OS Grid Reference 95230 85530) and the proposed Cable Sealing End Compound (CSE) to the south of Longannet Substation in Alloa, Fife.
ScottishPower Transmission Plc has also asked that Scottish Ministers give a direction under Section 57(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 that planning permission for the development be deemed to be granted.

Any representations on the application may be submitted via www.energyconsents.scot, using the relevant Project Name and/or ECU reference number. Please note that you must be in possession of a working email address to submit a representation virtually.
If you would prefer to submit your representation by post, please send to the Scottish Government, Energy Consents Unit, 4th Floor, 5 Atlantic Quay, 150 Broomielaw, Glasgow, G2 8LU, identifying the proposal and specifying the grounds for representation. Written representations should be dated, clearly stating the name (in block capitals) and full postal address of those making representations.
All representations should be made such that they are received by Scottish Ministers not later than 7 August 2026. Scottish Ministers may be able to consider written representations received after this date.
As a result of a statutory objection from the relevant planning authority, or where Scottish Ministers decide to exercise their discretion to do so, Scottish Ministers can also cause a Public Inquiry (PI) to be held.
Following examination of the application Scottish Ministers will determine the application for consent in one of two ways:
- Consent the proposal, with or without conditions attached; or
- Reject the proposal
