Notice is hereby given that Leithenwater Wind Energy Hub Limited, ("the Company") with company registration number 13325593, having its registered office at 10 Victoria Street, Bristol, England, BS1 6BN has applied to the Scottish Ministers for consent under section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 to construct and operate a wind farm known as Leithenwater Wind Energy Hub ("the Proposed Development") approximately 4.5 km north-east of Peebles (Central Grid Reference NT31417 42539).
The installed capacity of the proposed generating station would be approximately 80 MW will comprise of up to 13 turbines with 12 turbines having a maximum ground to blade tip height of up to 200 metres and 1 turbine having a maximum ground to blade tip height of up to 180 metres. The application also includes the proposal to construct an energy storage facility with a capacity of approximately 10MW to support the wind farm. The proposed development is subject to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and an EIA Report has been produced.
The Company has also requested a direction under section 57(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 that planning permission for the development be deemed to be granted.
The Company has now submitted additional information to Scottish Ministers, which includes information relating to the proposed grid connection for the development.
Copies of the additional information, the application and the EIA Report ("the information") are available for public inspection in person, free of charge, during the following hours at:

Copies of the additional information may be obtained from Leithenwater Wind Energy Hub Limited (telephone: 0117 3035217 or email leithenwater@belltownpower.com) for a fee of £50 for a hard copy or free on USB stick. Copies of a short Non-Technical Summary are available free of charge.
All previous representations received by Scottish Ministers in relation to the application remain valid.
Any new representations on the additional information may be submitted via www.energyconsents.scot, using the relevant Project Name and/or ECU reference number. Please note that you must be in possession of a working email address to submit a representation virtually.
If you would prefer to submit your representation by post, please send to the Scottish Government, Energy Consents Unit, 4th Floor, 5 Atlantic Quay, 150 Broomielaw, Glasgow, G2 8LU, identifying the proposal and specifying the grounds for representation. Written representations should be dated, clearly stating the name (in block capitals) and full postal address of those making representations.
All representations should be received not later than 27th July 2026. Scottish Ministers may be able to consider written representations received after this date.
Any subsequent additional information which is submitted by the Company will be subject to further public notice in this manner, and representations to such information will be accepted as per this notice.
Where Scottish Ministers decide to exercise their discretion to do so, they can cause a public inquiry to be held.
Scottish Ministers will determine the application for consent in one of two ways:
- Grant consent, with or without conditions attached; or
- Refuse the proposal.
