Notice of Intention to Commence Local Plan Preparation

(Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026
Folkestone & Hythe District Council (the Council) hereby gives notice of its intention to commence preparation of a new local plan to be known as the Folkestone & Hythe Local Plan. This notice is issued pursuant to Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026.
The Folkestone & Hythe Local Plan will cover the administrative area of the Folkestone & Hythe District.
The Council intends to commence the preparation of the Local Plan following publication of this notice. The Plan will be prepared in accordance with the Local Plan Timetable.
The Local Plan Timetable is available on the Council’s website at:
https://www.folkestone-hythe.gov.uk/planning-policy/local-plan-timetable
Paper copies of this Notice and the Local Plan Timetable can be viewed during normal opening hours at:
• Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 2QY; and
• All libraries within the district.
The notice is made available on 30th June 2026 in accordance with
Regulation 19(1) of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026.
