NATIONAL GRID ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION PLC ELECTRICITY ACT 1989 - SECTION 37 NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT TO INSTALL OVERHEAD LINES
Notice is hereby given that National Grid Electricity Transmission plc has submitted applications to the Secretary of State for the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) pursuant to section 37 of the Electricity Act 1989 for consent to install and keep installed 400kV high voltage overhead electricity lines and associated works in the vicinity of the Spalding Tee-Point, Surfleet Seas End and Moulton Seas End.
The proposed works form part of works to the Weston Marsh overhead line, which are required to connect a new 400kV Air Insulated Substation (Weston Marsh Substation A) into the existing electricity transmission system.
The application comprises the installation of 0.9km of overhead line and removal of 0.8km of existing overhead line along the 2WS line (S37 2WS Overhead Line Works). This application also applies for a direction pursuant to section 90(2) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (`Section 90 Direction') for deemed planning permission for these works and ancillary development being haul roads, SuDs drainage, laydown areas, crossing protection and maintenance access associated with the S37 2WS Overhead Line Works.

Any person wishing to make representations in respect of the applications must do so by 31 July 2026 clearly identifying the name of the overhead line and the grounds for objection.
