Triffitt Nurseries Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial numbers
2/27/28/292/R01, 2/27/28/278/R01 & NE/027/0028/045/R01 which authorise the abstraction of water from the Sherwood
Sandstone at National Grid References SE 76993 44817, SE 76042 45561 & SE 76019 45315 near Thornton, Melbourne, York for the purpose of spray irrigation. The variation applied for is:
Licence 2/27/28/292/R01: Increase annual quantity from 75,000 cubic metres per year to 85,000 cubic metres per year. Licence 2/27/28/278/R01: Increase annual quantity from 113,636 cubic metres per year to 171,636 cubic metres per year.
Increase in the aggregated quantity between all three licences from 156,365 cubic metres per year to 266,365 cubic metres per year and the addition of a 5-year rolling aggregate limiting abstraction to 780,000 cubic metres in any consecutive 5-year period across the 3 licences.
