TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 SECTION 257

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISH OF GISLEHAM) (FOOTPATH 4 (PART))

STOPPING UP AND DIVERSION ORDER 2026

The above named order was made on 20/05/2026 under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. The order will divert the entire width of that part of Gisleham Public Footpath 4 commencing at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) 65237 28798 and proceeding in a north north westerly direction for 140 metres to OSGR 65230 28810, then continuing in a north north westerly direction for 6 metres to OSGR 65230 28811 and then proceeding in a north easterly direction for 185 metres to OSGR 65244 28823; to a new line commencing at OSGR 65237 28798 and proceeding in a north easterly direction for 181 metres to OSGR 65251 28810, then turning and proceeding in a north north westerly direction for 136 metres to OSGR 65244 28822, where the route crosses a bridge, then continuing in a north north westerly direction for a further 9 metres to OSGR 65244 28823. The order will also stop up any public footpath rights that may subsist between OSGR 65230 28810 and OSGR 65244 28823.

A copy of the order and the order map, together with an explanatory statement, may be seen free of charge at Oulton Broad Library, 92 Bridge Road, Oulton Broad NR32 3LR. Opening times: Monday 10am - 1pm, Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 1pm and 2pm - 5pm, and Sunday 11am - 4pm.

Any representation or objection relating to the order must state the grounds on which they are made and be sent in writing to the Definitive Map Manager, Rights of Way and Access, Suffolk County Council, Phoenix House, 3 Goddard Road, Ipswich IP1 5NP, to arrive no later than 11/07/2026.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Suffolk County Council may confirm the order as unopposed.
