Wiltshire - Temporary Road, Byway and Footpath Closures With No Waiting Restrictions

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION
ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) Lodge Lane, Chute Forest; from its junction with C262 to its junction with UC 305002 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun and associated works. Alternative route via UC 305002 – C256 – UC 305201 – C262 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 06 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00 until 17 July 2026. B) C10 (Part), Steeple Langford; from its junction with The Hollows to its junction with Duck Street to enable Wessex Internet Limited to carry out new connection and associated works. Alternative route via C10 (unaffected length) – C283 – A36 – C64 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 08 July 2026 and the closure will be required for 2 days. C) A360 (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with The Maples for a distance of approximately 60m in a north westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out chamber repairs and associated works. Alternative route via A360 (unaffected length) – C57 – A36 – A360 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 09 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 for 1 night. This Order will come into operation on 09 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. J) Clough Lane (Part), Winterslow; from its junction with Pincroft Lane for a distance of approximately 600m in a northerly direction to enable Openreach Limited to carry out frame, cover repair and associated works. Alternative route via Clough Lane (unaffected length) – A30 – C335 – Clough Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. K) York Road (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with Devizes Road to its junction with Sidney Street to enable Virgin Media Limited to carry out installation of telecommunications equipment and associated works. Alternative route via Sidney Street – Gas Lane – Devizes Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 16 June 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. Orders A) to K) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

a) Byway 10 (Part), Durrington; from its junction with Fargo Road to its junction with Byway 12, Amesbury / A344.
b) Byway 12 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with Byway 10, Durrington / crossing the A344 over to its junction with A303 (T).
c) Byway 12 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with A303 (T) in a southerly direction to its junction with Byway 1, Wilsford cum Lake.
d) Byway 1 (Part), Wilsford cum Lake; from its junction with Byway 12, Amesbury to its junction with Byway 11, Berwick St James.
e) Byway 11 (Part), Berwick St James; from its junction with Byway 1, Wilsford cum Lake to its junction with Byway 16, Woodford.
f) Byway 16 (Part), Woodford; from its junction with Byway 11, Berwick St James to its junction with A360, Druids Lodge.
g) Byway 11 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with A303 (T) in a southerly direction to its junction with Byway 2, Wilsford cum Lake.
h) Byway 2, (Part), Wilsford cum Lake; from its junction with Byway 11, Amesbury to its junction with Footpath 3 at Springbottom Farm, Wilsford cum Lake.
i) Footpath 4, Durrington, from its junction with the A345, to its junction with Fargo Road.
j) Fargo Road (Part), Durrington; from its junction with the A345 to a point 300m north at Woodhenge.
And to introduce a temporary No Waiting at any time restriction on the following lengths of road:
k) A360 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke, Berwick St James and Woodford; from its junction with B3086 to its junction with Byway 15, Woodford.
l) A360 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke; from its junction with A344 (Airman’s Corner) in a westerly direction towards Shrewton for a distance of approximately 1 kilometre.
m) B3086 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke and Shrewton; from its junction with A360/A344 (Airman’s Corner) in a northerly direction to its junction with The Packway (Rollestone Crossroads).
n) Fargo Road (Part), Durrington; from its junction with the A345 to a point 300m north at Woodhenge.
o) C42, Stonehenge Road, Amesbury; from its junction with West Amesbury Road to the A303.
p) A345 (Part), Durrington; from its roundabout junction with A3028 for a distance of approximately 500m in a southerly direction.
These Orders are made to ensure public safety during the period of the Summer Solstice at Stonehenge. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
These Orders will come into operation at 00:00 on 15 June 2026 and are expected to remain in force until 12:00 noon on 23 June 2026. The Order for sections (a) – (i) will have a maximum duration of 06 months. The Orders for sections (j) – (p) will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
