What is planned?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Silverthorne Lane, Cradley Heath) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Silverthorne Lane, Cradley Heath which will be closed from its junction with Greenfield Avenue to its junction with Lower High Street (22/06/2026 - 20/07/2026) (access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits). A traffic diversion route will be signed via Greenfield Avenue and vice versa a traffic diversion will also be signed via Silverthorne Lane, Sydney Road, Lower High Street and vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 20/07/2026 effective from 22/06/2026 (24hrs). Purpose – To facilitate access for repair works by Cadent. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Marshall Street, Smethwick) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Marshall Street, Smethwick which will be closed from the dividing line of property numbers 76 and 77 to the dividing line of property numbers 81 and 82 (23/06/2026) (access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits). A traffic diversion route will be signed via Marshall Street, St Pauls Road, West Park Road and vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 23/06/2026 effective from 23/06/2026 (09:00 - 15:00).
