Ref 26/00167/PPDM - Construction, operation and decommissioning of onshore electricity transmission infrastructure associated with the Spiorad na Mara Offshore Windfarm, comprising: up to 12 electricity cables and associated transmission joint bays (TJBs) to the landfall point; up to two onshore substations (one located at landfall and one to the southwest of Stornoway); underground electricity cables and associated infrastructure connecting the TJBs and onshore substation(s) with the SSEN Lewis Hub; temporary and permanent access roads and tracks; and associated access, ancillary infrastructure and works – at multiple locations on the Isle of Lewis – landfall location on the northwest coast near Barvas, site location on or near the Arnish Moor, land to the west of Stornoway and corridor across the Barvas Moor between these two locations.

Notice is hereby given that the above proposed development is subject to an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and that an EIA Report has been submitted to Comhairle nan Eilean Siar to inform the planning application for the above proposal.
During a period of 30 days, beginning with the date of this Notice, a copy of the EIA Report and other documents submitted with the application may be examined:

This application is of a class of development where pre-application consultation has been required and carried out. Notwithstanding comments previously submitted to the applicant, any person wishing to make representations relating to the planning application should make them to the Planning Service at the address or email above.

The possible decisions which Comhairle nan Eilean Siar may take in relation to the application are to grant planning permission, to grant planning permission with conditions or to refuse permission.
*Committee Room 3 will not be available between 10.30am and 12pm on Wednesday 17 June **Horshader Community Development wil not be open on 25 June due to their scheduled chiropody practice visits ***These are the core opening hours for Carloway Community Centre, though the venue may be open longer most days. The EIAR and associated documents will be available to view during the full opening hours each day.
