THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR TRANSPORT hereby gives notice of the proposal to make an Order under section 247 and 261 of the above Act to authorise the temporary stopping up of a length of footpath FP11 at Alrewas, Burton on Trent in the County of Staffordshire. The proposed Order will require, during the temporary period, the provision of an alternative highway and at the end of the temporary period the restoration of the highway onto its original route.
If made, the Order would authorise the stopping up only to enable development as permitted by Staffordshire County Council, under reference L.19/09/817MW.
Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan will be available for inspection during normal opening hours at Staffordshire County Council, 2 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH in the 28 days commencing on 4 June 2026, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the address stated below (quoting NATTRAN/WM/S261/5007).
Any person may object to the making of the proposed order by stating their reasons in writing to the Secretary of State at nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk or National Transport Casework Team, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ, quoting the above reference.
Objections should be received by midnight on 2 July 2026.
