NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF ARTICLE 4(1) DIRECTION

The Council of the London Borough of Hillingdon (“the Council”) confirmed a Direction pursuant to Article 4(1) of the General Permitted Development Order on 26th February 2026.

The Direction relates to development comprising change of use of a building from a use falling within Class C3 (dwellinghouses) of the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987 (as amended) to a use falling within Class C4 (houses in multiple occupation) of that Order and withdraws permitted development rights for this type of development, being development comprised within Class L of Part 3 of Schedule 2 to the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015. An application will therefore need to be made to the Council for the grant of planning permission under Part III of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended) before such development can be undertaken.

The Direction applies to the area outlined in red on the associated plan.
