Drymen Road - Planning Application
What is planned?
Notification of Provisional Tree
Preservation Order
Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997
The Town and Country Planning (Tree Preservation Order and Trees in Conservation Areas) (Scotland) Regulations 2010
Notice is hereby given that a NEW Tree Preservation Order has been made by the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority as planning authority for:
TPO Title: Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority Tree Preservation Order Number 1 of 2026
TPO Location: Drymen Road, Balloch, West Dunbartonshire, G83 8JY
Community Council Area: Balloch And Haldane CC
Reason for making this Tree Preservation Order
The seventeen oak trees combine to create one of the most prominent landscape features in Balloch, dating back to the construction of Balloch Castle, and collectively the trees are worthy of protection.
The removal, lopping, topping, wilful damage to or destruction of the trees would have an adverse impact on the amenity of the area and the landscape character of this part of the village. It is in the interests of the amenity and cultural heritage of the area to protect the trees with a Tree Preservation Order.
