Notice is hereby given that the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has made an Order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic from proceeding along part of Bridleway No. 52 from point of closure at Grid Reference SD 7533 6815 for approximately 385 metres to point of closure at Grid Reference SD 7569 6805 in the Parish of Austwick, from 8 June 2026 until 8 December 2026 inclusive, or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
The closure will be put into effect when necessary, by means of the erection of notices and signs.
The Order is necessary to safeguard the public from hazards owing to planned surfacing works which will affect the right of way.
An alternative route may be used during the closure period which will be as follows:
From point of closure at Point A at Grid Reference SD 7533 6815, proceed in a north westerly direction along the B6480 road for 1.3km to Point B at Clapham, SD 7448 6907. Then proceed in a northerly direction to Church Avenue for 343 metres, to Point C at SD 7457 6939. Then proceed east and then north for 93 metres to join Bridleway 05.11/10 and continue east for 2.4km to Point D at SD 7695 6919. Turn south onto Grummack Lane and proceed south for 559 metres into Austwick to Point E at SD 7697 6866. Continue southwest along the tarmac road for 1.5km to point of closure at Point F, SD 7569 6805 and return.
