PUBLIC NOTICE
GUILDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL

PROPOSED GRANT OF A LEASE OF PART OF THE OLD CRICKET PAVILION (Premises) and PROPOSED GRANT OF A LEASE OF LAND AT SUTHERLAND MEMORIAL PARK (Land).

THE ABOVE PREMISES and THE ABOVE LAND are held by Guildford Borough Council (‘the Council’) pursuant to a vesting deed dated 21st September 1954 as part of charitable land known as Sutherland Memorial Park.

NOTICE IS HEARBY GIVEN pursuant to Section 117 to 123 of the Charities Act 2011 that the Council intends to grant (i) a five-year lease of a small parcel of land adjacent to the Old Cricket Pavilion at Sutherland Memorial Park, Burpham Lane, Guildford, and (ii) a ten-year lease of a store adjoining the Old Cricket Pavilion at Sutherland Memorial Park, Burpham Lane, Guildford. The intended disposals will not affect the designated uses of the charitable land as a public recreation ground and playing fields as it will be utilising space already in situ ancillary to the use of sports clubs using the pitches at Sutherland Memorial Park.

A location plan and a copy of the independent valuation report for both of the proposed disposals are available for inspection during office hours in the main reception, Millmead House, Millmead, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 4BB.

Any objection or representation in respect of either of the proposed disposals must be made in writing to Mark Appleton, Asset & Property Manager, at Millmead House, Millmead, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 4BB to reach them no later than 26th June 2026, quoting reference GMB/11220 and specifying which disposal it relates to.
