The Planning (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2015 (Regulation 7)
In accordance with the above regulations, an existing anaerobic digestion facility operated
by Biogen (UK) Ltd at Westwood, Bedford Road, Rushden, NN10 0SQ will treat food waste
to produce biogas to be upgraded to biomethane to export Green Gas directly into the
national grid in addition to the existing use of biogas to fuel onsite gas engines to generate
renewal electricity.
North Northamptonshire Council will decide whether or not to grant consent, and if to grant, will
decide on what conditions to grant. Representations may be made to North Northamptonshire
Council as the hazardous substances authority. Representations should be made no less than
21 days from which an application under regulation 5 was sent to the hazardous substances
authority on 25 May 2026. Further information can be obtained from the North
