NOTICE OF THE MAKING OF AN IMMEDIATE
DIRECTION UNDER ARTICLE 4 (1) LAND REAR OF HIGHFIELDS, WRITTLE ROAD, MARGARETTING, INGATESTONE (THE LAND)

CHELMSFORD CITY COUNCIL made an Immediate Direction on 30th April 2026. 

The Immediate Direction removes permitted development rights for The Land for The erection, construction, maintenance, improvement or alteration of a gate, fence, wall or other means of enclosure.

The formation, laying out and construction of a means of access to a highway.

The provision of buildings, moveable structures, works, plant or machinery required temporarily in connection with & for the duration of operations being or to be carried out on, in, under or over the land or on adjoining land. 

The use of any land for any purpose other than agriculture. The use of land as a recreational campsite. 

A copy of the Direction & the map defining the area covered, can be viewed at Chelmsford City Council, Civic Centre, Duke Street, from 10am-4pm, Monday-Friday (apart from Bank Holidays) or on the Council’s website: www.chelmsford.gov.uk/planning-and-building-control
Representations may be made between 30 April and 4 June 2026 by email to planning.enforcement@chelmsford.gov.uk or by post to Chelmsford City Council. 

Representations must be received by 4.45pm on 4 June 2026.

The Immediate Direction comes into force on 30 April 2026 & will expire at the end of the period of 6 months from that date unless confirmed earlier by the Council.
