NOTICE OF INQUIRY AND HEARING SESSIONS TO BE HELD AS PART OF THE PUBLIC INQUIRY

ELECTRICITY ACT 1989

CROSBIE WIND FARM

SECTION 36 APPLICATION FOR CONSENT TO CONSTRUCT AND OPERATE A WIND FARM APPROXIMATELY 3.5 KM SOUTHEAST OF LARGS

Scottish Ministers have appointed Mr Alasdair Edwards MA(Hons) MRTPI to consider and submit a report to them on an application under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 to construct and operate Crosbie Wind Farm on land approximately 3.5 Km southeast of Largs, North Ayrshire. The application (which is available to view on the DPEA web site) is subject to environmental impact assessment and is supported by the following environmental information:

• an environmental impact assessment report dated January 2025

• updated LVIA visuals and residential visual amenity assessment of March 2026

• updated noise impact assessment of March 2026

• a grid connection assessment dated April 2026

• responses to the above information from consultees and members of the public

The Reporter will hold a public inquiry to obtain more information on certain matters before he reports to Scottish Ministers on the case. The matters to be considered during the oral sessions of the public inquiry are:

• Noise and vibration (inquiry session)

• Aviation (inquiry session)

• Landscape and visual impact (hearing session)

• Policy and legislation (hearing session)

• Community perspectives (hearing session)

• Impact on neighbouring wind farms (hearing session)

• Conditions and legal agreements (hearing session)

No other matters relevant to this case will be considered at the inquiry and hearing sessions.

These sessions will take place starting on Tuesday 16 June 2026 at 09:30 am within West Kilbride Community Centre, Corse Street, West Kilbride, KA23 9AX and will run for 8 days (excluding weekends).

Members of the public are welcome to attend and observe the sessions. All hearing and inquiry documentation, statements and precognitions may be viewed in North Ayrshire Council Offices (Irvine), Largs Library, Millport Library, Fairlie Library, West Kilbride Library, Ardrossan Library, and Dalry Library until the start of the sessions.
