TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT) REGULATIONS 2017

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has received a planning application from Heidelberg Materials UK Limited for “The extraction of sand and gravel from the southern extension area; construction of temporary soil screening bunds, construction of a new embankment within the western extension to form a new silt lagoon (to accommodate the silt from the southern extension area), the continued use of the adjoining Birch Quarry access and haul road, stocking area processing plant, bagging plant, silt and settlement lagoons and related infrastructure, the construction of a tunnel under the B1022 to allow for the installation and use of a temporary conveyor link and pipes between the extraction area and Birch Quarry, creation of a new road access onto Maldon Road, temporary site office and parking and the importation of suitable restoration materials to establish the proposed restoration contours and after uses”. The proposed development may not accord with the provision of the Essex Minerals Local Plan Adopted July 2014 in force in the area which the land to which the application relates is situated.
