COMPULSORY PURCHASE OF LAND IN DARWEN
- Notice is hereby given that Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council has made the Borough of Blackburn with Darwen (12 Minster Crescent, Darwen) Compulsory Purchase Order 2026 under section 17 of the Housing Act 1985. It is about to submit this order to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government for confirmation, and if confirmed, the order will authorise Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council to purchase compulsorily the land described below for the purpose of disposing of the house to bring about its re-use.
- A copy of the order and of the accompanying map may be seen at all reasonable hours at the office of the Strategic Director for Growth and Development, 5th Floor, 10 Duke Street, Blackburn, BB2 1DH and at Darwen Town Hall, Six Day Market Hall, Croft Street, Darwen, BB3 1BG. Alternatively, you can contact emptyproperties@blackburn.gov.uk.
- A copy of the order and of the accompanying map may be viewed online at Compulsory Purchase Orders – Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.
- Any objection to the order must be made in writing to the Planning Casework Unit, 4th Floor, 23 Stephenson Street, Birmingham, B2 4BH or by email to pcu@communities.gov.uk before the 25th day of May 2026 and should state the title of the order, the grounds of objection and the objector’s address and interest in the land.
