Notice under Section 123(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972 of the intended disposal of Open Space Land
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN for the purposes of Section 123(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972 that Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, being the owner of the freehold parcel of land described below, which is partly held and maintained as public open space, intends to dispose of the said land (described below as the Property) by way of a short term lease with the intent that the Property shall continue to be used as a football club pavilion and associated football pitches.
Description of the parcel of land
The land and buildings known as the Banstead Athletic Football Club at Merland Rise, Tadworth KT20 5JG (“the Property”) forming part of the open space land registered with freehold title number SY777104. Further details of the land, including a plan showing the relevant part of the Property edged red, can be found on the Council’s website at reigate-banstead.gov.uk/BAFC and may also be inspected at the Town Hall, Castlefield Road, Reigate RH2 0SH during normal opening hours by giving 48 hours’ notice.
NOTE: Any objections or representations with respect to the proposed disposal must be made in writing quoting the reference “Banstead Athletic Football Club” and may be sent by email to LegalTeam@reigate-banstead.gov.uk or alternatively in the post for the attention of the Legal Team at the Town Hall, Castlefield Road, Reigate RH2 0SH to be received no later than 5pm on 4 June 2026.
