The above order was made on 10 April 2026, under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
The effect of the order will be to divert part of Footpath 34, Gillingham as shown on the order map as follows:
From the current route: The full width of the footpath from the unaffected part of Footpath 34 at ST 81584 25568 generally southeast for 143 metres to ST 81706 25518 then generally east for 26 metres to ST 81733 25517 where it meets Footpath 33. (No recorded width)
To the new route: From the unaffected part of Footpath 34 at ST 81584 25568 generally southeast for 4 metres to ST 81588 25561 then south for 4 metres to ST 81588 25556 then southeast for 6 metres to ST 81591 25551, then generally northeast for 18 metres to ST 81609 25560 continuing east northeast for 19 metres to ST 81626 25561 then generally east southeast for 34 metres to ST 81658 25554 then generally south for 8 metres to ST 81657 25546 then southeast for 30 metres to ST 81669 25526, east for 10 metres to ST 81686 25519 continuing generally east for 25 metres to ST 81771 25519 then generally east for 25 metres to ST 81736 25515 where it meets Footpath 33. Width: 3.0 metres from ST 81584 25568 to ST 81591 25551. 2.0 metres from ST 81591 25551 to ST 81736 25515.
A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Reception, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester during normal offi ce hours.

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to Alastair Beaven, Defi nitive Map Team, Spatial Planning, Dorset Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1XJ (Ref: RW/P288), or via email to alastair.beaven@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk, not later than 04 June 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made. Any letters received will be made available for public inspection.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Dorset Council may confi rm the order as an unopposed order.
If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confi rmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
