PUBLIC FOOTPATH ZR681, TEYNHAM, RAIL CROSSING
DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on him under section 119A, section 120(3) and 120(3A) of the Highways Act 1980 and all other powers enabling her in that behalf, proposes to make an order, the effect of which will to divert the public right of way, in the parish of Teynham, public footpath ZR681, in the interest of the safety of members of the public using, or likely to
use, the said footpath.
The effect of the Order shall be to divert:
The full width of that part of public footpath numbered ZR681
which commences on an unaffected part of public footpath ZR681
at point B TQ9547 6320 and runs generally in a south southwesterly direction for approximately 21 metres to its connection with Lower Road another unaffected part of public footpath ZR681 at point C, TQ9545 6318 approximately 10 metres from its connection with Teynham level crossing. Between the points B-C on the Ordermap, to a new length of public footpath numbered ZR681, running over land within the ownership of Network Rail, with a width of 2 metres, which commences at the aforementioned point B TQ9547 6320 and runs generally east for approximately 276 metres to point
E TQ9572 6310 on the Order map.

Any representations about or objecting to the draft Order may be sent in writing to Zoe McPhail Rightsofway2@planninginspectorate.gov.uk or via post to the Rights of Way and Common Land Decision Service, Planning Inspectorate, c/o QUADIENT 69 Buckingham Avenue, Slough, SL1 4PN, telephone 0303 444 5463 (quoting reference ROW/3346297) not later than 11 June 2026.
The operator of the railway crossed by the footpath described above shall maintain the footpath created by this order where it passes over the footbridge.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any
so made are withdrawn, the Secretary of State may make the
unopposed Order.
