What is planned?

NOTICE THE MAKING OF A PUBLIC PATH ORDER
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257 AND PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 14
PRESTON CITY COUNCIL, OLD HALL FARM, LEA, PUBLIC PATH ORDER 2026


The above Order was made on 16 April 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to:
(i) stop up the bridleway running from the northern boundary fence of Riversway running northwards parallel to the field edge to the southern boundary fence of the Guild Wheel and create an alternative bridleway from the northern boundary of Riversway running north-west parallel to the electricity transmission line to a point adjacent to footpath FP0608024 then adjacent to the footpath for 100m then curving east to the southern boundary of the Guild Wheel;
(ii) divert the footpath FP0608024 from the northern boundary of Riversway running north-north-west for a distance of 40m and create an alternative footpath from the northern boundary of Riversway running generally north-west to meet the unaffected part of footpath FP0608024;
(iii) divert the footpath FP0608024 from the southern boundary fence of the Guild Wheel running south-south-east for a distance of 25m and create an alternative footpath from the southern boundary fence of the Guild Wheel running south-south-east then east-south-east to meet the unaffected part of footpath FP0608024; and
(iv) divert the footpath from the wooden stile at the western end of North Syke Avenue, curving south-west then north-west to a junction with the bridleway and create an alternative footpath from the western end of North Syke Avenue west then following the course of the planned estate roads and paths generally north-west then north-east to the southern boundary of the Guild Wheel
as shown on the Order map.

Alternatively, a copy may be seen free of charge at the Contact Centre, Preston City Council, Town Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday. A copy of the Order and Order map may be purchased for £1.00.
Any representation about or objection to the Order may be sent or delivered in writing addressed to the Director of Resources (Legal Services LAS//WK/019649), Preston City Council, Town Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL not later than 27 May 2026. Please state the grounds on which it is made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Preston City Council may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
