Notice of proposed development/works at (a) St Georges Social Centre, Vaughan Street, Nelson 26/0119/FUL Full (Major): Demolition of existing buildings and the erection of 30 self-contained apartments (Use Class C3) with associated landscaping, parking and altered vehicular access The proposal is a Major Development (b) Site Of Former Riverside Mill And Land Bordering With Charles Street And Baker Street, Reedyford Road, Nelson 26/0221/REM Reserved Matters: Residential development of up to 113 dwellings (Appearance, Landscaping, Layout and Scale) of Outline Planning Permission 22/0774/OUT varied by 23/0557/VAR The proposal is a Major Development (c) Land At Field Number 0087, Earby Road, Salterforth 26/0204/FUL Full (Major): Erection of 28 no. dwellings with detached garages and associated landscaping, infrastructure and altered vehicular access The proposal is a Major Development.

(d) Craigmore, Keighley Road, Colne 26/0217/HHO Full: Erection of a detached residential annexe The proposal is within the Lidgett And Bents Conservation Area (e) Stone House, Dean Street, Trawden 26/0218/HHO Full: Erection of a two-storey side extension. The proposal is within the Trawden Forest Conservation Area. As these are householder applications, in the event of an appeal against a refusal of planning permission, which is to be dealt with on the basis of representations in writing, any representations made about these applications will be sent to the Secretary of State, and there will be no further opportunity to comment at appeal stage. The Council has received these applications and is required to advertise them under the above legislation. Copies of the applications can be inspected during normal office hours at Number One Market Street, Nelson until 1st May 2026.The case officers dealing with these applications are: (a, b) Alex Cameron who can be contacted on (01282) 661713, (c) Laura Barnes (661719) (d) Athira Pushpagaran (661091) (e) Luke Jones (661239). Any representations about these applications should be made either in writing to the Planning Manager, Town Hall, Market Street, Nelson, BB9 7LG, so as to arrive not later than 1st May 2026; or, a copy of the application can be inspected on the Council’s website (
under Planning/View Planning Applications) and comments made online. All comments received will be available for public inspection and will be viewable on the internet along with the application details. However, names, addresses, signatures, telephone numbers, email addresses, and personal information within the comments will not be published on the internet. Decisions are normally made within six to eight weeks (11 to 13 weeks for major planning applications). Details of the decision will not automatically be sent to those that have made comments.
