ASHFIELD DISTRICT COUNCIL
(SUTTON-IN-ASHFIELD FOOTPATH No. 1)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025
On 17th March 2026 Ashfield District Council confirmed the above Order. The effect of the Order is to divert the public footpath commencing from a point, SK 5041 6116, at the junction with the westerly remainder of Sutton-in-Ashfield Footpath No. 1, and proceeding for a distance of approximately 134 metres in a generally east-north-easterly direction to a point, SK 5054 6117, at the junction with the easterly remainder of Sutton In Ashfield Footpath No. 1 and create an alternative footpath commencing from a point, SK 5041 6116, at the junction with the westerly remainder of Sutton-in-Ashfield Footpath No. 1, and proceeding for a distance of approximately 87 metres in a generally north-easterly direction to a point, SK 5046 6122, and then proceeding for a distance of approximately 102 metres in a generally south-easterly direction to a point, SK 5054 6117, at the junction with the easterly remainder of Sutton-in-Ashfield Footpath No. 1, with a width of 2 metres on a tarmac surface throughout, as shown on the order map.
A copy of the Order (as confirmed) and the Order Map may be seen free of charge at Ashfield District Council, Council Offices, Urban Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm on Wednesday and from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday. Copies of the Order (as confirmed) and the Order Map may be bought there at the price of £1.00. Copies may also be viewed on the Council’s website at
The Order comes into force on the date on which Ashfield District Council certifies that the terms of Article 2 of the Order have been complied with.
If any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, they may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to that Act.
