NOTICE PURSUANT TO PART 7, REGULATION 7 CONFIRMING THAT A DIRECTION HAS BEEN MADE BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE

We hereby give NOTICE that on the 10th March 2026 the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government made a Direction under Regulation 7 of the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisement)Regulations 2007 restricting deemed advertising consent at all properties located in all Conservation Areas in the City of Westminster.

The effect of the Direction is to remove rights granted by the Advertisement Regulations to display Estate Agents Boards at the properties without the need for advertisement consent. The Direction will come into effect on 15th April 2026.

A copy of the Direction and a Map showing the relevant areas can be viewed on the Council’s website athttps://committees.westminster.gov.uk/ieDecisionDetails.aspx?ID=2539. Or, alternatively by contacting the Planning Policy team at planningpolicy@westminster.gov.uk.

The decision to make the Direction may be challenged by an appeal to the High Court within 6 weeks of the Ministry’s letter to the Council (dated 10th of March 2026). A person who thinks they may have grounds for challenging the Direction should seek legal advice before taking any action.
