NOTICE OF CONFIRMING AN IMMEDIATE DIRECTION UNDER ARTICLE 4 (1) MADE UNDER ARTICLE 4(1) OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (GENERAL PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT) (ENGLAND)
ORDR 2015

NOTICE is hereby given that Chorley Council has confirmed an immediate Article 4(1) direction on (Date) in accordance with Schedule 3 of The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (as amended).

This confirmation relates to an immediate direction made on Tuesday 23rd September 2025 regarding the removal of the permitted development rights to the material change of use from a use falling within Class C3 (dwellinghouse) of the Schedule to Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987 (as amended) to a use falling within Class C4 (Houses in Multiple Occupation) of the said Order and not being development comprised within any other Class. An application will therefore need to be made to the Council for the grant of planning permission under Part III of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended) before such development can take place.

The direction applies to the administrative area of Chorley Council, as shown edged red on the Plan attached to the direction. A copy of the direction including the map defining the area can be viewed online at

www.chorley.gov.uk

or at Chorley Town Hall or the Council offices at the Civic Offices, Union Street, Chorley, Lancashire, PR7 1AL during normal opening hours.
