Any comments that you make about this proposal will be copied to the Planning Inspectorate in the event of an appeal and will also be published on their website. In the event of an appeal on a householder application (or a minor commercial or advertisement application), which is to be dealt with by written representations), any comments you have made will also be sent to the Planning Inspectorate but there will be no further opportunity to comment at appeal stage.

The Council gives warning pursuant to its powers under Section 225 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, that it will remove or obliterate any sign/advertisement illegally displayed within the administrative boundaries of St Albans City & District Council.

THE ST ALBANS CITY AND DISTRICT COUNCIL (CONTROL OF PARKING) ORDER 2023 (AMENDMENT No.) HARPENDEN PAID PARKING PLACES ORDER 202***

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that St Albans City and District Council (pursuant to arrangements made with Hertfordshire County Council) proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to make the above-named Order within the St Albans City and District as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

The general effect of the Order would be in Arden Grove, Southdown Road, Thompsons Close and Victoria Road, Harpenden to:

(1) Convert paid parking places (1 free 30-minute parking session per vehicle per day) 2-hour maximum stay, no return within 2-hours, operating Monday to Saturday 9:00am-6:00pm to (1 free 1-hour parking session per vehicle per day) 2-hour maximum stay, no return within 2-hours, operating Monday to Saturday 9:00am-6:00pm.

The proposed charges will be up to 1-hour free (1 free session per vehicle per day) or in 30-minute increments of £1.25 up to 2 hours.
