Public Consultation Events
Torfichen Energy Park Grid Connection
Longcroft Wind Farm (now called Glenburnie Wind Farm) Grid Connection
23 February 2026 until 24 March 2026

SP Energy Networks (SPEN) is proposing the construction of new electricity transmission infrastructure consisting of two connections linking into a proposed cable sealing end (CSE) approximately 2 km west of Oxton in the Scottish Borders. Both connections will use trident wood poles, and possible underground cables.

Torfichen Energy Park Grid Connection will connect to the proposed Torfichen Energy Park substation (TEP). The connection will include approximately 20 km of 132kV overhead lines.

Longcroft Wind Farm (now called Glenburnie Wind Farm) Grid Connection will connect to the proposed Glenburnie Wind Farm substation. The connection will include approximately 7.5 km of 132kV overhead lines.

SPEN has a legal duty under the Electricity Act to provide grid connections to new electricity-generating developments and has been approached by the developer of these projects to provide a connection.
