Notice of proposed development/works at (a) 1–3 Scotland Road, Nelson. 25/0492/FUL Full: Alterations to existing shop front, installation of ventilation grills to the front elevation and the installation of an ATM. The proposal is within the Albert Road Conservation Area. The proposal affects the setting of a Listed Building. (b) 4 Richmonds Court, Colne. 25/0683/FUL Full: Change of use of an existing Funeral Home (Use Class E) to a Residential Care Home (Use Class C2) for up to 2 no. children. The proposal is within the Albert Road Conservation Area.

(c) 1–3 Scotland Road, Nelson. 25/0493/ADV Advertisement Consent: Display of externally illuminated 3 no. fascia signs, 1 no. projecting sign, 2 no. welcome vinyls, 1 no. illuminated directory of services sign, 2 no. illuminated window posters, 1 no. vinyl opening hours signage, 1 no. vinyl automatic door signage and 1 no. vinyl CCTV signage. The proposal is within the Whitefield Conservation Area. The proposal affects the setting of a Listed Building. The Council has received these applications and is required to advertise them under the above legislation. Copies of the applications can be inspected during normal office hours at Number One Market Street, Nelson until 2 January 2026. Any representations about these applications should be made either in writing to the Planning Services Manager, Town Hall, Market Street, Nelson, BB9 7LG, so as to arrive not later than 2 January 2026; or, a copy of the application can be inspected on the Council’s website (
under Environment/Planning/View Planning Applications) and comments made online. All comments received will be available for public inspection and will be viewable on the internet along with the application details. However, we will endeavour to prevent signatures, telephone numbers and email addresses from appearing on the comments published on the internet. Decisions are normally made within six to eight weeks (11 to 13 weeks for major planning applications). Details of the decision will not automatically be sent to those that have made comments.
