Following on from the publication of the North East Lincolnshire Council Draft Local Plan with Options for public consideration in 2024. The Council has now published a Draft Local Plan - Preferred Options document, for public consideration in accordance with Regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.

This is an additional consultation in the Local Plan review process as set out within the adopted Local Development Scheme. During this additional stage in the Local Plan review process, the Council is seeking your views on its Draft Local Plan Preferred Options. 

This formal public consultation runs from 09:00 Monday 8 December 2025 to 23:59 Sunday 1 February 2026.

The Preferred Options document is available to view on-line:

• On the Council's website at: https://www.nelincs.gov.uk/planning-and-building-  control/planning-policy/local-plan-review/  Paper copies are available to view at the following locations during their normal opening hours:

• North East Lincolnshire Council Municipal office reception, Grimsby, DN31 1HU

• Lincs Inspire Libraries in Immingham, Cleethorpes, Waltham and the temporary library in Grimsby

• The Gingerbread House Library, The Cloisters, Humberston, DN36 4HT

• Scartho Community Hub, St Giles Avenue, Grimsby, DN33 2HB

Officers will be available at drop-in sessions to explain what the Local Plan review is, why we are undertaking it and how you can get involved.

If you wish to make comments on the Preferred Options document, you are encouraged to use the Council's online consultation portal https://nelincs-consult.objective.co.uk.

Written responses will also be accepted by e-mail to spatialplanning@nelincs.gov.uk or by post to Local Plan, North East Lincolnshire Council, Municipal Offices, Town Hall Square, Grimsby, DN31 1HU.
