Chinatown, Glasgow – Pre-Application Consultation for Mixed-Use Development
What is planned?
PUBLIC NOTICE
The Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2013 (as amended)
Notice under Regulation 7(2) (b) Pre-application consultation by the prospective applicant for the following development:
Proposed demolition of existing buildings and erection of a mixed-use development including retail and professional services, restaurants and cafes, business and employment, residential accommodation including purpose-built student accommodation, community and leisure uses and hot food takeaways, together with associated landscaping and public realm, car parking provision, infrastructure and associated works at Chinatown, New City Road, Glasgow.
The first of two consultation events will take place on Wednesday 10th December 2025 between 3pm and 7pm at Dundasvale Community Hub, 12 Dundasvale Court, Cowcaddens, Glasgow, G4 0SN. Members of the project team will be available to discuss the proposals, receive feedback, and answer any queries during this time.

This notice does not relate to a planning application. Comments should not be made to Glasgow City Council. Any comments made to the prospective applicant are not representations to the planning authority. If a planning application is submitted to the Glasgow City Council, normal neighbour notification and publicity will be undertaken at that time and you will have the opportunity to make formal representations regarding the proposal at that time.
