NOTICE UNDER ARTICLE 15 OF APPLICATION FOR PLANNING PERMISSION ACCOMPANIED BY AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT
KCC/MA/0135/2025 – Proposed development at Land at Chapel Farm, Lenham Heath Road, Lenham, Kent.
Robert Brett Aggregates is applying to Kent County Council for planning permission for the Proposed development of a new sand quarry, involving the extraction, screening and transport of approximately 3.2 million tonnes of soft sand, with progressive low-level restoration to agriculture and biodiversity enhancements, including associated temporary site compound facilities, plant and equipment, screening and storage bunds, an internal haul road, and a new access onto the A20 (Ashford Road) to the north of the site.
The application is accompanied by an Environmental Statement, the proposed development affects a public right of way, and is situated within 10 metres of relevant railway land.

Printed paper copies of the Non-Technical Summary or the Environmental Statement are available from the applicant’s agent at a cost of £200 for the Environmental Statement, £15 for the Non-Technical Summary, or £15 for an electronic copy of both (on CD). Comments are accepted within 33 days from the date of this notice (by 13 January 2026). Please quote the application reference number: KCC/MA/0135/2025 and note that comments may be drawn to the attention of Council Members, the applicant and other interested persons and may include publishing on the Borough Council website.
