What is planned?

PLANNING APPLICATIONS

Great Yarmouth Borough Council has received the following planning applications for development in the Borough, which are hereby advertised.

THE PROPOSAL BELOW IS ADVERTISED

FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:

(1) Affects a Conservation Area (2) Affects the setting of a Listed Building (3) Affects a Listed Building and within a Conservation Area (4) A Major Development and a Departure from Development plans

  • 25A-26 King Street, Great Yarmouth, Sub-division of existing restaurant to create a new retail unit at 26 King Street, with associated shopfront alterations. Application No: 06/25/0863/F (1,2)

  • King William IV Public House, Quay Road, Gorleston; Variation of Condition 2 of pp 06/25/0414/F (Alterations and extensions to Public House and erection of carport and pergola) – Amendments to increase the size and change the design of the new rear extension and reduce the size of the car port. Application No: 06/25/0979/VCF (1)

    • Land adjacent the Gas Holder Station, Sutton Road, (accessed from Admiralty Road), Great Yarmouth; Temporary use of the land to provide a site compound area and install 4no. 1- and 2-storey welfare facility and site office portacabins. Application No: 06/25/0906/F (2)

    • Central Library and Tolhouse Museum, Tolhouse Street, Great Yarmouth; Replacement of existing non-compliant distribution boards with new compliant boards; installation of fire panel installation of smoke detectors and sounders. Application No: 06/25/0831/LB (3)

    • Land west of Gorleston Golf Club, off Warren Road, (east of Valley Farm, Lowestoft Road), Hopton-on-Sea; Land forming and change of use of agricultural land to create an extension of adjoining golf course including construction of 2 new golf course holes to replace those being lost to coastal erosion at the existing course, with associated landscaping and infrastructure. Application No: 06/25/0912/F (4)

    Please email all representations to plan@great-yarmouth.gov.uk by no later than 19th December 2025 quoting the application number. All representations will be recorded on a public file, be viewable on the Council’s website, and will be referred to the Secretary of State’s inspector in the event of an appeal.
