Publication of the Basingstoke and Deane Local Plan (2024-2042) Draft Spatial Strategy (Regulation 18 Consultation)

Notice pursuant to the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended) and the Town and County Planning (Local Planning) Regulations 2012

In accordance with the Regulations, the Borough Council is required to publicise the Draft Spatial Strategy (Regulation 18 consultation) of the Local Plan (2024-2042) and supporting documents and invite comments.

The draft Local Plan will guide development and planning decisions in the area until 2042, including where new homes and employment will be built and how we protect the environment. This is a focused consultation on the draft Spatial Strategy, there will be a further opportunity to comment on the other parts of the Local Plan next year.

Copies of the draft Spatial Strategy and evidence base documents are available to view on the borough council’s website at: www.basingstoke.gov.uk/dlp-have-your-say

• Wednesday 14 January 2pm to 8pm at Sherfield Park Community Centre

• Thursday 15 January 2pm to 8pm at The Woodpecker, Wash Water

The period for submission of representations will run from Friday 28 November 2025 until 5pm on Friday 23 January 2026.
