What is planned?

Section 53 of the Wildlife And Countryside Act 1981, Definitive Map and Statement for the County of Herefordshire, Herefordshire Council, (Addition of Byway Open To All Traffic DO17 Dorstone) Modification Order 2025

The above Order made on 20th August, 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding the byway open to all traffic running from OS Grid Reference SO 2833 4247 to OS Grid Reference SO 2890 4263.

Copies of the Order, Order Plan and Explanatory Statement may be seen free of charge at Blueschool House, Blueschool Street Hereford, HR1 2AN, during normal opening hours. Copies may be provided on payment of the photocopying charges of Herefordshire Council (“the Council”). Copies are also available on the Council’s website at www.herefordshire.gov.uk

Representations or objections to the Order must be made in writing to Public Rights of Way Manager, Herefordshire Council, Plough Lane, Hereford, HR4 0LE, or by email to prow@herefordshire.gov.uk, quoting reference PROW/M334 and stating your reasons, to be received not later than 9th January, 2026. Your details may be imparted to third parties.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State, may itself confirm that Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State, Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
