PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER (NO. 10) 2025

On 18 November 2025, Bristol City Council confirmed the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and Section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the public footpath running from:

• grid reference 356400 168765 at Highridge Green in a generally easterly direction for approximately 174 metres to grid reference 356570 168795 at Spartley Drive; to a line running from:

• grid reference 356397 168760 at Highridge Green in a northeasterly direction along the hard surface footpath for approximately 22 metres to grid reference 356416 168772 at Geoffrey Close, then running in a generally easterly direction along Geoffrey Close for approximately 107 metres to grid reference 356522 168768 at the end of Geoffrey Close, then following the hard surface footpath running in a generally southerly direction for approximately 6 metres to grid reference 356523 168762, then in a generally easterly direction for approximately 28 metres to grid reference 356551 168764, then in a generally northerly direction for approximately 14 metres to grid reference 356543 168776, then running in a generally north-easterly direction for approximately 33 metres to grid reference 356573 168789 at Spartley Drive, being a total distance of approximately 210 metres with a width of 1.5 metres along its entire length as shown on the order map and to modify the definitive map and statement.

A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Bristol City Council, City Hall, College Green, Bristol, BS1 5TR during normal office hours. Copies of the order and order map may be sent by second class post on receipt of a written request at a price of £6 to cover the Council’s administrative costs.

The order comes into force on 18 November 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the date on which the notice is first published on 24 November 2025, make an application to the High Court.
