SCREENING DETERMINATION

The Wakefield District Design Code Draft Supplementary Planning Document provides detailed guidance on improving the quality of the design of development, in the context of relevant policies within the Wakefield District Local Plan (adopted 24 January 2024).

The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 require public consultation on the draft Supplementary Planning Document and associated Consultation Statement for a minimum of 4 weeks.

The consultation will take place from Thursday 20 November 2025 until 5pm Wednesday 14 January 2026. Comments made at this stage will inform the final adopted version of the Supplementary Planning Document.

A drop-in session where Officers will be available to answer any questions will be held on Friday 28 November 2025 from 2.00pm until 5.00pm in the Old Court Room, Wakefield Town Hall, Wood Street, Wakefield, WF1 2HQ.
